Dirique, Davila, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte

          Barangay is the basic sociopolitical of Filipino society which is divided into smaller areas called Purok (Zone). A Barangay is led by the elected officials consisting Barangay Chairman or Captain, Barangay Kagawad, Barangay Secretary and a resisting midwife or doctor who take care and manage the Barangay Health Care.

          Barangay 5 Davila is considered to be the most populated Barangay in Municipality of Pasuquin. The Barangay Hall of Davila is situated along the High way near form the Davila Elementary School and Catholic Church.

           Every thing and place has it's own history behind its name. Barangay Davila has its own story. According to Davilenous ancestors, the name Davila came from the daughter of David and Lala, when she died in their place, her parents name the place Davila for them to remember the memories of their daughter.

           Davila is a coastal area, which means it is near the sea and the main business of the people there is fishing, because of Dumadara, a certain fish which is commonly caught by the fisherman, they are celebrating Dumadara Festival organized by the Roman Catholic officials. Davilenous associated this fiesta because they believed that the Virgin Mary will blessed them and this fiesta serve as a Thanksgiving to a bountiful fish. There are also activities hold during festival like boat race and eating grilled fish (Dumadara) with the special guest.

            Barangay Davila is also known of Bonsai Production and Artistry. Some sitio in their Barangay are selling Bonsai for decoration and sometimes they participated in competition in bonsai production. There are also projects implemented in Barangay Davila like "Tapat mo Linis mo" program which encourage all the people to maintain the cleanliness in their respective areas. There are also Barangay Health Care that provides first aid, Child Health Care and other health service. Davilenous also helping each other whenever or whatever circumstances they may encounter.

            Davila has also a place which they can be proud of and it is very pleasant to the eyes of visitors. One of this is the Dirique Blue Sea Resort where ther can see the boat men of sunset in Davila. Another is the Bakawan Trees (Mangrove Trees), which is located to Purok 3 (Zone 3) in Barangay Davila. They conserve it for the underwater construction or piling.
